A Real dream

A Real dream (HBO) reflects the path that took place from TACON to what will be a champion Real Madrid. With so many things in between. An unbalanced first squad. The demon of the pandemic. The best moment of the maximum rival. The reinforcements. First games with public. 90,000 people at the Camp Nou watching Real go 1-2 in the Champions League... Over time this documentary will be an excellent way to understand the precious journey (beautiful even in defeats and losses) that is being the birth of Real Madrid FEM.

The second season begins with a punch right in the stomach. Throughout the tour we will accompany Marta Cardona in her fight with injuries and relapses. We can understand her suffering. How long the road can be. The importance of mental health. Marta hurts us, because there is a moment at the end... that we already know that she is going to end up at Atleti. And it hurts, because the documentary only reflects on it briefly at the end. "She went to Atleti". And you don't understand anything. But nothing at all. It is logical that, with the level of access that Real Madrid gives you, there are certain absences in the script. Seeing her in red and white, after the ordeal of 21-22, I can't understand it. The documentary reopens that wound.

"Missing=">"Missing" Marta="Marta" Cardona"="Cardona"</a>" when="when" her="her" goals="goals" and="and" assists="assists" were="were" missing,="missing," >"Marta's=">"Marta's" thing="thing</a>" the="the" disaster="disaster" of="of" departure="departure" ensued,="ensued," >"Atleti...=">"Atleti..." no"="no"</a>" saw="saw" in="in<em>" rojiblanco="rojiblanco">

What makes this second season unforgettable is the access to the entrails of our players. That's where the documentary shines.

In Claudia Zornoza. That we knew she was the boss. That she put us in the Champions League. That she held the team. Emotional is to know what is behind their celebrations.

Of the many moments in the first season, I always stayed with Esther Martín-Pozuelo's grandparents. Their pride and her effort. In this second, these moments of knowing the family history (in her voice) of Zornoza, is unforgettable. The memories touch you, as a viewer, deep inside. I won't go into more detail, for those who haven't seen it yet, but after seeing it I can only say that my personal admiration for our CZ has grown. Even more if possible.

It also happens to me with Misa, our goalkeeper. Real Madrid pride. Dearest Misa. When they show many stops of Misa in a row, you realize how good it is to have butterflies flying around Valdebebas.

Not so much will be said, because the documentary gives many other things, from the moment of a food, almost at the end. Misa reminding Esther that they went to Cibeles. She is the Madridista at the table. And that shows things, there are other more lukewarm reactions. We must continue building the club from Misa.

And Athenea, of course, our talented youngest. She crying at the thought of her family's efforts. She, talking as fast as she plays. The coffee. Athe will be an emblem for many years and it is nice to see it like this, just as she is. Before she hardens (yes, this will make her a better footballer).

The documentary hits the emotional moments, but it fails me personally in the sports ones. I have started with the first ones, which are what make it a remarkable product. You have to understand that there are absences in the script (how little Asllani appears, for example, how soft Aznar's farewell is) because it necessarily has to have limitations, the club doesn't give you as much access without certain tolls.

But for me, for example, and being exquisite, I would prefer to have more environment of the Zornoza's goal in the UWCL in Barcelona. Not so many press conferences there, or the eternal references to Alexia. I lack more epic around that enormous moment. Because what you want to tell is how the section is growing, and that is what will be seen in the future. How was the growth of the club? And that 1-2, in a full stadium, is uncomplexed. It was liberating from the Real Madrid perspective. That momentary victory showed that there is less and less left to be in the first row. Also knowing that we should have won the first leg, and that is hardly reflected.

Best I can recommend is that you must see it, and enjoy it, because it deserves it. It is a remarkable work, I insist. It also tells, and that's how it had to be, Corredera's pregnancy, Babs's marriage. Very well told the end of Babbet, her family situation, messages. What a great captain she was, as a reference, as a liaison with the coach. The same concern of her towards Marta pregnancy, for example. And we must remember that she came to TACON, our origin.

Here, as is well known, we vindicate TACON without complexes: "Even today, in the spirit of disrespect, when Real Madrid plays, the disparagement of “Today we play against TACON” is heard. Yes, proudly" .. And we do it for people like Babs who knows how to be an example there.

And a reference to Toril: he clearly did a tremendous job (except how Asllani and Cardona ended up, which I'll never understand until it's explained). Against Villarreal and Valencia, and there it is cream that the documentary shows it, he says the right words. The goal is achieved. But we are now in the third step of the real dream… and we need a little bit of rocknroll. I have the feeling, watching the documentary, that we are missing some bad temper in there. Esthercina, Carmonina… We are Real Madrid, they all want to bring us down. It is said of us that we have ended women's football. We are the bad girls in the movie. Whatever we do, we are criticized. Well, let's go forward with pride, let's point to the shield so that when it is said 1,2,3 Hala Madrid! our players fully understand what it represents.
