All (or many) of us Madridistas had gone to sleep with the smile of seeing Joaquín lift the Football Cup, at his 40 years, happy.
But it was time to change the chip, because precisely in Seville and against Betis we had an ACB match, with them risking their lives. Bad date for ours, with a lot of effort in the last days and in the days to come. Laso's response was to go out with Nuñez, Abalde, Yabusele, Tabares and NWG. The latter after Pablo Laso's strange compliment.
A Real not as plugged in as in recent games kept the score level in the first quarter until the final 16-18.
In Seville they were still partying... https://twitter.com/ACBCOM/status/1518189133524611072
The second quarter we were bad, no more words needed. Only Llull with a triple put the score close (27-26) but we could hardly do more. 20-9 was the partial, we were without hands in the game. 10 of 32 shooting from the field said it all. 36-27.
On the way back... things changed, with a good 0-5 run back. We were again in the game. 40-41 and then a 45-52 with a partial 5-19 and our maximum advantage. https://twitter.com/ACBCOM/status/1518191787361202176
It seemed that the victory was on track, but Betis would have its last word, knowing how to counteract the good play of those minutes by Yabusele and Abalde, and our success in the offensive rebound.
Two minutes in the clock, and they put the tie back (65-65), even we would start the last minute down. After a very hard-fought rebound, Hanga's three-pointer would score 69-70 that would give victory, as the Sevillians fell asleep running out of time, incomprehensibly, on the final play. https://twitter.com/GIGANTESbasket/status/1518204594354110466 < p style="text-align: justify;">We would score another one from the personal line, 69-71. Important a good final feeling before traveling to Israel
