Real Madrid is the winner of the ACB 2021-2022. What a pleasure it is to write it and even more so after such a fateful season with injuries, impossible streaks, unforgettable last quarters (in the worst sense), indiscipline, partying, problems.
We are champions because the titles (the ACB at least) are won in May-June, not in February. And we have reached this month, despite the injuries and setbacks, as a united team, with more desire, more fight. What is being Real Madrid? This team is a example: when they try to rob you (this should have been a 3-0), then the shield (and the people behind the shield) pulls you towards success.
We deserved it. And so the championship came https://twitter.com/RMBaloncesto/status/1538581515482824706
This decisive match had very different phases. To begin with, one of madridismo: the first basket, the first offensive rebound (once again a key, once again showing who wanted the title more) and the first streak. 7-0 was the start, it cost Barcelona horrors to put their second basket. https://twitter.com/MovistarBasket/status/1538553632991346689
Real Madrid spent the first quarter clinging to Tavares, the only one with success at the hoop, rebound, defense.
4 of 20 said the official statistics, that was our success. Barcelona signed 4 of 8, much less shooting, but more accurate. That left the score at a rickety 13-10.
He further tightened in the second, despite again a good early lead from the start of the fourth. We saw our first situation above 10 points, but they overcame until 33-32. Causeur was 1 out of 6, Hanga 1 out of 7, Deck 0 out of 5 (with Mirotic's final block at the end of the period), Llull 2 out of 8, although there were some mandarinas because those are the rules at Wizink https://twitter.com/MovistarBasket/status/1538559389585620992
We needed more precision.
We looked for signs of infinity and the TV showed us Don Carlo in the pavilion: charismameter firing at the Wizink.
We had to win this. Again we came out better and again Tavares gave us reason to believe with his dominance under the boards, with 48-43 he made a block to Nikola (block and lesson in humility) that was half a title because of how he lifted the Wizink https://twitter.com/MovistarBasket/status/1538570870901317632
We opened the last quarter one up on the scoreboard, in a game that was still tied. Barcelona had taken the lead for the first time in the match, in the penultimate possession of the third quarter. Faced with the dominance of Tavares (we missed him when he rested) Barça shot with enormous success from the outside (20 against 62% success at that time, they dried up from there in the end).
Our worst moment was that beginning of the fourth quarter, where we didn't know how to score. But the public today was supportive. Hanga hit his first triple in the 32nd minute of the game and we were back at +2 (60-58). Gaby Deck took and asked for prominence, he did not burn with the ball. We were up, not by much, but up. And Fabien emerged. 69-61 Causeur (does anyone want him to go?) seemed like a key moment at 200 seconds. Fabien indeed, also became a key, scored again, kissed the shield.
We had guillotined this ACB. < p style="text-align: justify;">But it's fair to say that this is Tavares' league. What a game! RM fans love him https://twitter.com/MovistarBasket/status/1538578790246498305 We are fucking Real Madrid
