Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world for its number of European Cups in football and basketball. We are the team that most respects the competition. Those who best honor it. This is what Toril did, not taking the classification for granted despite the 0-3 scoreline in the first leg. Real Madrid FEM came out with everything and it was good, because from the start we suffered against Rosenborg. The game had to be taken seriously.
Real Madrid did it, a good part of their Twitter fans did not. We had "the afternoon of the cranes", those large wading birds, "with long legs and necks, with gray plumage on the body, and black and white on the head and neck, which emit a very loud squawk when it flies." As the match was expected to be calm, some of us spent the afternoon defending Lorena Navarro and others attacking her, and with it the club's bosses, and if someone defended our less usual footballer players... whoever it was ended up being designated as a friend of the Real Madrid FEM board or things like that. There was also some gratuitous criticism of Toril by "the other side". And the only side should be Real Madrid.
To the ground, ours are coming! Let's not fall like that. We are going to try to comment about it freely, passionate, wanting to bring some peace of mind.
Toril gives importance to the physical, with intelligence, because football is becoming more physical. Carla Camacho is a great project and from here we support her furiously. But Lorena has intelligence on the field, she is great at scoring, she knows how to position herself... that's also true. She has things to take advantage of, too. Here we exhibit their numbers at the time "Don't say goal, say LorcaPucca" and without a doubt the numbers are good at what is important: generating goals.
The Real Madrid of Camavinga, Tchou, Valverde is powerful, physical, overwhelming. The tremendous average of the second parts is not a coincidence. Modern football is increasingly physical. Freja's signing for the women's, I suppose, goes that way. Or the arrival of Kathellen. She is great. And with it, with them, we are going to reduce the distance that there has been with the big clubs in last couple of years. Toril (and/or the club) is right in that bet.
But I will support Lorena as well, because I see usable qualities (for example, she played games last year when we barely had healthy players, pointing that, at least, she takes care of herself physicality)
Carla has advanced Lorena in Toril's plans. Okay. But the uncontrolled criticism of this player (she has always been very usable when she played, scoring important goals) seems out of her mind. And she, with so many games, will end up playing sooner or later.
Sometimes life is details. Against Rosenborg, at 0-1, we had to defend stopped balls. There could have been an expulsion or a couple of misfortunes, like Toletti's injury. Well, in that context, a Lorena who is an expert in these matters, in these minutes, is worth it.
Then we have some critics with Claudia Florentino. Let's learn from the success of the Carlo's team and the importance of role players. If they accept the role and fulfill when it's their turn... Why laugh and scoff and enjoy their few minutes? Was Vallejo not important? Or we think we can have the bench full of top-class players and not destabilize the locker room? You need Claudias Florentino like you need Lucas Vázquez or Vallejo. Because the season is long... and suddenly you will need them.
And more so in a short squad, like Real Madrid FEM, with so many games to play.
Next stop Bilbao. And then the national team break, where it is to be expected that a large number of madridistas will be called up (Oh, RFEF). Let's see if it helps to pick up the pace. To be better physically.
We have to fight for everything. But let's do it with unity: no one is left over. Neither on the field, nor on the bench, nor in the fans.
