The football World Cup of infamy

The Football World Cup of infamy is on. Don't you have the feeling, between some things and others, that it's not being real or it's weird?
Nothing helps to think otherwise: that it be in Autumn, in stadiums that start out full but end up empty, even there are no renowned artists at the opening. Luis Enrique's list. The opening match being a Qatar-Ecuador. Blessed Ecuadorians, giving color to the World Cup asking for beer from the stands or making the universal gesture of "this is bought".
And it is that, as a friend tells me, there are many who are not going to see a minute of the game (if anything, Bellingham or other future merengue players) but are "enjoying" the game, shame and ridicule that occurs in everything that surrounds the World Cup.
For example, Infantino's speech, treating us all as idiots. Somehow like Xavi when he said that Qatar was an excellent place to live. Except if you are a woman or a stadium worker. It is barbaric to take a map of the stadiums and the country. While half the planet meets to address the climate emergency, innumerable atrocities have been committed at the world's largest event with virtually no response. And of course no bracelets or rainbows or anything. all mouths closed
The danish Peter Moller has expressed the shame with this sentence: "I am worried about the future of FIFA and football in general. You see more and more people, inside and outside football, saying: Is this really what we want? "Every time you see more fans who turn their backs on football."
And it's a good thing we have Florentino. Because since Qatar took off its airways around the football planet... resisting is being titanic. Because they don't just sponsor and represent what they stand for, they are also associated with the darker parts of Europe. And, having money, those heroes end up speaking well of your emporium. Shame.
It is the World Cup of infamy and we should not stop saying it. Where there is money, there is power, and where there are loads of both... there is ambition, deceit, harm. Dear football, you don't deserve this.
