There are many people who want to bury Pablo Laso.
First statement: this page is not a staunch follower of anyone. We are supporters of Real Madrid. The moment someone is a problem for the institution, be it Laso or Florentino Pérez, we will ask for him to leave. But... has the time come in 2022 with Laso? Well, losing the EuroLeague final by 1 point, it seems pretty daring to argue that he should go.
Everything is about the last minute of the Euroleague final. Management of errors, management of the last decisions. Laso himself admitted later "We should have made the foul" and instead of praising his humility... many have thrown themselves at his neck.
I have no fucking clue about basketball, less and less every day. But I do have some knowledge about group management. And to miss a last minute play, to be able to regret a last second decision, you have to get to that last second or minute. You have to be there. If we are analyzing whether Laso should have done this or that, it is because we were 1 point away from winning another European Cup.
And Laso again managed a group, a crisis, a difficult situation leading us to another final, to another last play
The sport, sometimes, after a whole year, becomes a matter of millimeters. If that rebound was a milimeter to the left or if a player would had been placed a little further, one last action is basket. And it's victory. https://twitter.com/EuroLeague/status/1528110836912381952 < p style="text-align: justify;">But of course... for that you had to be in the Stark Arena. And we were. Credit to Laso, Rudy, Llull... all the vilified. They were back on a big night
